Two Broke Cowboys

November 17th, 2016

You’ve seen these guys at Tejas Rodeo on the big screen kicking off the Saturday performance. Of course you know Yancey James as the mounted announcer on Lena, everyone’s favorite paint horse. Did you know Trey Martin drives the chuck wagon?

These two aren’t just the owners of Tejas Rodeo Company, they are the real deal: hands-on, hat-wearing, spurs-jingling, participating cowboys.

When they’re not roping and riding, they’re also business men. Tejas Rodeo Company has been producing rodeos for 10 years, entertaining crowds weekly nine months out of the year. Tejas Steakhouse & Saloon was added five years ago and now has many awards and full bellies to their claim. Western Sky Wedding & Event Venue is the newest addition to Tejas Rodeo Company, built to accommodate large weddings and corporate events. Western Sky was Trey’s vision and Yancey’s daily supervision brought it to life.

Unbelievably down to earth and humble, if you ask either of them to describe themselves you’ll get: two broke cowboys

Limestone Magazine caught up with Trey and Yancey, held them down might be closer to the truth, for an interview and photos for their debut issue and cover. Limestone Magazine is distributed across the state of Texas, even internationally and online.
